Mauna Loa Helicopters is an FAA Part 141 flight school with bases on two of the Hawaiian Islands: O’ahu and the Big Island of Hawai’i. Hawai’i offers great infrastructure for flight training, convenient flight practice areas, less congested airspace, favorable weather conditions and one of the most dynamic training environments in the world. Hawaii’s training environment includes high mountains, ridge lines, and valleys, off shore flying and the opportunity to fly in a busy Class B Airspace, in Honolulu.

Introductory Flights
You will have the opportunity to fly our helicopter with the guidance of our certified professional flight instructors. Our pilots will first explain how the flight controls work during your helicopter tour. Afterwards, under their guidance, you will take the controls and fly the helicopter back to the airport! This fun and exciting helicopter ride includes a brief ground lesson.
The instructional session cost $673 per hour with a minimum of 1 hour

Kona Base – The Big Island, Hawaii
Larger than all the other Hawaiian Islands combined, the Big Island is vast and diverse. Comprising over 4,000-square miles of land area and home to about 150-thousand people, there’s lots of room to move here. And, as is the case with the other islands, there are ocean sports aplenty with kayaking, scuba, snorkeling, body boarding and surfing as well as hiking, biking, hunting and many other outdoor activities.
